Full-service maintenance supports plant owners by managing their maintenance organization and providing the required personnel and tools. Often, this service also includes taking over budget responsibility for the outsourced maintenance from the plant owner.
The degree of outsourcing may range from the maintenance of single units to the maintenance of whole plants.
Typically, the scope of work for a full-service maintenance contract includes:
Updating the maintenance policy and strategies with the customer
Establishing maintenance procedures
Optimizing the maintenance planning process
Use of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to generate work orders and job plans as well as for maintenance records and feedback functions
Executing maintenance works
Organizing shutdowns/ turnarounds
Spare parts management
Reporting and documentation
Training the necessary personnel.
If required, logistics services may also be provided (e.g. on-site infrastructure, warehouse, workshop, equipment).
Full-service maintenance contracts are awarded on a medium to long-term basis and are normally measured against key performance indicators (KPIs). These KPIs are mutually agreed on commencement of the contract and are individually defined for each plant.
