Full-service Maintenance supports the plant owner by managing their maintenance organization, including the provision of the required personnel and tools. Often this service also includes budget responsibilities for maintenance that is transferred from the plant owner to a maintenance contractor.
The degree of outsourcing may range from maintenance of single units to servicing whole plants.
Typically the scope of work for a Full Service Maintenance contract includes:
Updating and maintenance strategy and policies with the customer
Establishment of maintenance procedures
Optimization of maintenance planning process
Usage of computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for the generation of work orders, job plans and maintenance recording and feedback functions
Execution of maintenance works
Organization of shutdowns/ turnarounds
Spare parts management
Reporting and documentation
Training of the necessary personnel
If required logistics services may also be provided (e.g. on-site infrastructure, warehouse, workshop, equipment).
Full Service Maintenance contracts are assigned on a medium to long-term basis and are normally measured against key performance indicators (KPIs). These KPIs are mutually agreed at the commencement of the contract and are individually defined for each plant.
