The secondary and tertiary crushing plant for iron ore, followed by magnetic separation consists of two identical, separate lines with a feed capacity of 750 t/h, each. The plant consists of one Secondary Crushing Plant with two Kubria® Cone Crushers type M 210, one Tertiary Crushing Plant with four Kubria® Cone Crushers, type F 210 and one Screening Plant, with two Linear Vibrating Banana Screens 3.6 m wide and 8 m long. In the following sorting plant, the screened final product of 0-10 mm will be separated, into concentrate and waste material, by magnetic drums.

This plant was an EPC contract, built for the Swedish state-owned company LKAB in Mertainen, close to Kiruna in Northern Sweden.

The first of three identical direct feed Semi Mobile Crushing Plants for copper ore consists of a large dump hopper with two truck bridges, a heavy-duty Gyratory Crusher KB 63–89, the discharge conveyor and the steel substructure with roof and bridge crane. As a special feature, a mainshaft stand with a separate service bridge is integrated in the complete plant. The main components are supported on a pontoon style steel substructure, resting on a compacted gravel bed and are therefore relocatable by the provided Transport Crawler with a capacity of 1250 t. The electrical system is mounted on an independent structure and also relocatable.

The plant is designed for a throughput capacity of 4000 t/h at a final product of 0-250/x mm and allows feeding by haul trucks with payloads of up to 360 tons.

The copper ore grinding plant comprises a ball mill (5.8 m diameter x 8.4 m EGL) with a 6,200 kW COMBIFLEX drive, and an SAG mill (5.8 m diameter x 8.4 m length) with a 4,400 kW COMBIFLEX drive. thyssenkrupp Resource Technologies designed the grinding plant for a rated throughput of 331 tph of copper ore.

Two POLYCOM high pressure grinding rolls, each equipped with 2 x 1,800 kW drives, are used for primary grinding of the copper ore. The final fine grinding takes place in two ball mills equipped with 17 MW ring motor drives. The two copper ore grinding systems each have a rated throughput of 761 tonnes of copper ore per hour.

The wet-grinding plant for gold ore grinding consists of an SAG mill and ball mill: the SAG mill (diameter: 9.7 m; length: 4.8 m) is designed for a throughput rate of 930 tph. The ball mill (diameter: 7.9 m; length: 12.4 m) takes over the grinding of 980 tph. A second wet-grinding plant is to be used for the processing of limestone and consists of an SAG mill (6.7 m in diameter; 3.65 m in length; 375 tph throughput) and a ball mill (4.9 m in diameter; 9.8 m in length; 390 tph throughput).

Multi-injection plant for accurate ultra-low desulphurisation of hot metal: To reliably achieve hot metal sulphur contents <10 ppm very rapidly and with a minimum consumption of desulphurisation reagents, thyssenkrupp Resource Technologies for the first time employed an enhanced injection system and a new metallurgical process computer. The new system adapts the moment of injection and the dosing intensity of the desulphurisation reagents to the respective phases of the process, which shortens the injection times and reduces the reagent consumption rates.
