thyssenkrupp inaugurates new production site in Mühlacker
- Fully automated production of body platforms for electric vehicles with more than 200 robots
- Around 170 jobs will be created
- Construction completed in less than nine months

More than 200 robots fitted with the latest safety sensors will be used in the new production halls.
thyssenkrupp System Engineering, an international system partner to the automobile industry, today inaugurated a new production site for body platforms for electric vehicles in Mühlacker in Baden-Württemberg. Around 170 new jobs will be created on the 60,000m² site. Construction of the new facility was completed in less than nine months.
Fully automatic production will start in Mühlacker in 2019. More than 200 robots fitted with the latest safety sensors will be used in the plant. thyssenkrupp System Engineering covers the entire process chain for body production – from the design of tooling and equipment to the installation and commissioning of the fully automated equipment to the manufacture of prototypes and production bodies.
